Unless you are English, French or Italian, you would probably be in agreement that the World Cup was an incredible event that, amplified through social media, reached a record audience and dominated the airwaves for a full month (as did the sound of the vuvuzela – which I have only recently stopped hearing in my sleep!).

I just got sent the one below from Tom Fox over at social media agency Simply Zesty which I thought I would share, plus a few of my favourite stats from it.

1. 84% of Irish people are in favour of goaline technology. Unsurprising indeed (if you don’t know why, watch this) but good to see the Irish and English agreeing on something!

2. Online viewing figures of 1.1m and 800,000 for the USA v Algeria and England v Slovenia respecitively. Future?

3. Vuvuzela is #1 app on iTunes in 50 countries in June. Tinitus?
